State credit rating

The State of Victoria is rated by three international rating agencies - Standard & Poor's (S&P), Moody's Ratings (Moody's) and Fitch Ratings (Fitch).

The rating agencies review the State's:

  • economic structure and prospects
  • financial performance and outlook
  • balance sheet position
  • liquidity and debt management strategy
  • the Government's fiscal strategy.

The State is rated AA+ with a stable outlook by Fitch, AA with a stable outlook by S&P, and Aa2 with a stable outlook by Moody’s.
