Construction Supplier Register

The Construction Supplier Register is a pre-qualification scheme for building and construction industry consultants and contractors. It is available by arrangement with the department to statutory authorities, school councils and hospitals as well as to other approved Government and non-Government organisations.

The Register and its associated pre-qualification scheme supports the implementation of Ministerial Direction No. 1: Tendering Provisions for Public Construction and benefits government and suppliers alike through the consistent application of suitable pre-qualification criteria and reduced tendering costs.

Buying for Victoria website

The Department of Treasury and Finance and the Department of Premier and Cabinet have recently launched the Buying for Victoria website. It can be found at buyingfor.vic.gov.au. This procurement portal is the first step to providing buyers and suppliers with a single location to access procurement information. You will find information about Victoria's Social Procurement Framework, a policy framework to harness the buying power of government to create social benefit for Victorian communities. While the Buying for Victoria website is being developed, information related to public construction policy and resources will remain on this website.

National Prequalification System for Non-residential Building

The Construction Supplier Register has worked closely with the Australasian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC) to undertake a review of the National Prequalification System for Non-residential Building (NPS) where the construction cost estimate is $50 million and over. Contributions to the review were made by industry, industry associations and the government bodies that administer the scheme in each State and Territory. The Construction Supplier Register is a member of the group working through the review report recommendations with the APCC.

Information about the NPS is available on the Australasian Procurement and Construction Council website.
