Description

The Wodonga Wastewater Treatment Plant project involved the design, construction and operation of an upgraded wastewater treatment plant in Wodonga.

The plant upgrade provided additional capacity to treat and manage domestic and trade wastewater to the required environmental standards and effluent re-use requirements for the Wodonga area.

In December 2000 North East Region Water Authority (NERWA) contracted PURAC Pty Ltd to design, build, operate and maintain the upgraded wastewater treatment plant for ten years.

The Wodonga Wastewater Treatment Plant became operational in July 2003.

In 2005, NERWA approved a change in the private operator from PURAC Pty Ltd to EGL Management Services Pty Ltd.

In August 2012, NERWA resumed operational control of the plant and the PPP contract was concluded.

NERWA now operates and maintains the treatment plant.
