Social Housing Regulation Review

The Social Housing Regulation Review is seeking your views on the regulation of social and affordable housing in Victoria with the release of its first consultation paper.

The Victorian Government commissioned an independent Social Housing Regulation Review as part of the Big Housing Build to identify future regulatory arrangements that will support the long-term interests of social housing residents and communities.

The review also aims to position social and affordable housing for growth and transformation in the coming decades.

The independent review panel will be consulting widely throughout 2021 with public papers and other targeted consultation processes, including with Aboriginal housing tenants and stakeholders.

The panel will provide its preliminary recommendations to the Government based on the results of this consultation in late 2021. The panel will then seek stakeholder feedback on these recommendations before providing a final report to the Government in early 2022.

Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback on this review via the Engage Victoria website. Organisations are also invited to provide written submissions in response to the review’s consultation papers and interim report.
