Financial overview of income and expenditure, and total outstanding commitments for 2020-21.

In 2020-21, the CSF received $79.79 million in revenue and incurred $46.63 million in expenditure. Funding from the CSF was provided to support various projects with community benefits that align with the CSF funding objectives legislated in the Gambling Regulation Act 2003.

Revenue received in 2020-21 financial year was lower than that of previous years due to public health restrictions being in place in hotels to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

During the 2020-21 financial year the CSF trust has an opening cash balance of $27.16 million, with net cash movement of $28.05 million resulting in a closing cash balance of $55.21 million as reported in the 2020-21 DTF Annual Report.

  • 80 per cent of the CSF funding in 2020-21 was allocated for tackling problem gambling which is one of the top priorities for the CSF.
  • the remaining 20 per cent of funding was allocated across various other funding objectives.

There were 21 new CSF projects approved in 2020-21. These projects support a wide range of community organisations and councils to build strong and sustainable communities across Victoria.
