The Red Tape Commissioner

Hard meter reads - COMPLETED

Red tape issue

Information from gaming machines is collected electronically via soft meters. Gaming venue operators are also required to read the hard meters and record this information for seven years.

Current status

In March 2017 the Victorian Commission for Gaming and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) issued new Accounting and Auditing Venue Requirements for gaming venue operators. The amendment reduces the requirement for recording of hard meters. Recording will now be required monthly rather than weekly.
