DTF is responsible for advising the Victorian Government on its finances.

The Department prepares macroeconomic forecasts and fiscal updates as part of the Budget and Budget Update processes. In discharging its accountability to the Parliament on the State's finances, the Government prepares financial reports on a regular basis (quarterly, half yearly and annually).

These reports are prepared in accordance with the accounting standards issued by the Australian Accounting Standards Board.

Following their tabling in Parliament, Budget, Budget Update and financial reports are published on the Victorian Budget and DTF websites in PDF and Word formats.

To enhance the transparency and accessibility of the information in these publications, you can now download historical and current series of financial information and macroeconomic indicators from the Budget website.
