Skills Transfer Program

The Victorian Government is committed to improving the value its investments provide to the people of Victoria. An initiative that has proven to be highly effective is known as the Investment Management Standard. This standard comprises a set of simple practices that have reduced the cost of developing business cases, enabled more informed investment decision making and maximised the benefits that government is receiving from its investments.

The standard is experiencing rapid and widespread adoption across the departments and agencies of the Victorian Government and by governments across Australia and New Zealand. To support this uptake, the Department of Treasury and Finance conducts a skills transfer program to allow the approach to be properly understood and applied effectively.

The facilitator training session provides the skills to facilitate the development of Investment Logic Maps consistent with the guideline. You will gain an understanding of the fundamentals that underpins the investment management standard and the six individual practices.

Places will be allocated on a 'willingness to become a facilitator' basis. Limits may be placed on the number of attendees per department or company.

Facilitator training is NOT mandatory for accreditation however it is highly recommended.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Skills transfer events may be moved, changed or cancelled depending on resource availability and demand.

Facilitator accreditation

The development of high quality investment logic maps is critical to the success of the standard and their development has been found to be a specialised skill. For that reason it has been necessary to introduce a simple method of accreditation. Details of the accreditation process can be found in the facilitator accreditation documentation.

Having successfully met the accreditation conditions accreditation is then granted. Consultants who have been accredited will be invited to submit their details in a standardised two page format that provides their background and price structure for the development of an Investment Logic Map and an Investment Concept Brief.
