Economic and Financial Policy
DTF provides economic and financial advice to the Government on issues including long-term economic development, financial strategy and taxation policy.
We also provide economic and social policy advice to enhance Victoria’s economic development, as well as monitoring and forecasting revenue flows and trends in state and national economies.

Proposed landholder duty model
As part of the
2011-12 State Budget 
, the Treasurer announced the Government will reform Victoria’s land rich duty provisions by adopting a landholder duty model from 1 July 2012.
Following written submissions from stakeholders and various consultation meetings, as part of public consultation on the policy parameters of Victoria's proposed landholder duty model, the Government approved modifications to the original proposed design features.
An
exposure draft of the Duties Amendment (Landholder) Bill 2012 
has now been released for technical consultation. Feedback is requested by 5pm on Monday 16 April 2012.
