Multi-Year Strategy Background

The Multi-Year Strategy (MYS) forms a critical element of the Gateway Initiative. The MYS presents a consolidated 10-year view of planned asset and asset-related proposals for each department. It identifies the different stages of proposal development in the different time periods of the MYS. Details of each proposal will change over time as an initiative evolves and develops.

From the provision of this information, DTF will consolidate and analyse a General Government sector MYS to report to ERC. Over the medium term the consolidated MYS will assist and inform on Whole-of-Government asset investment priorities across portfolio boundaries and inform short-term decision-making.

DTF has developed the MYS as a key element of the Gateway Initiative to:

  • tighten and simplify MYS requirements
  • progress MYS within an overarching Gateway Initiative communication strategy (to assure clear and consistent understanding and informed MYS application)
  • continue to consult and engage departments.
